Alphasense PID sensor FAQs
Here are some of our most frequently asked questions about our PID sensors. Please get in touch if you have further questions.
We work with a huge variety of customers and applications across the globe. If you get in touch and tell us a bit about your application we will be delighted to assist with your specific requirements.
Alphasense was built on innovation and that continues to be at the core of everything we do. This NEW range of sensors represents a step forward in PID technology, bringing faster response, stable baselines and minimal temperature and humidity effects when compared to other products and indeed our own legacy range of PIDs. Thanks to technological advances in sensor design the addition of external fusing circuitry for hazardous area applications is no longer required when compared with legacy products. In addition to this, the benefits of being part of a larger organisation has allowed us to launch the NEW Alphasense PID range at a pricepoint which offers the best value in the market and which we believe will help drive adoption and in turn protect more lives. To learn more about the features and benefits of the NEW range, take a look at our PID guide. If you have an application you would like to discuss, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
For 25 years, Alphasense have led the way in the development and manufacture of a broad range of sensors for Gas Safety and Air Quality applications. Our acquisition by AMETEK has brought stability and renewed investment in R&D, galvanising Alphasense’s position as market leaders in the gas and particulate sector. In buying from Alphasense, you are choosing a reliable and trustworthy supplier.
Each sensor in the NEW range has a specific detection range and minimum detection level. You should select based upon these characteristics vs. your application. We appreciate it’s not always a simple decision, so if you need assistance in selecting which PID to choose, please get in touch.
We have a full range of accessories including a sampling enclosure (with PCB-mounted connector and mating adapter), replacement filters, bulbs, maintenance kit and rebuild kit.
Datasheets and our PID guide can be downloaded using the links above. The datasheet for PID-AG5 and a product manual for the entire range is available upon request. If you would like a copy of either just request them via the enquiry form.
We have an experienced technical support team based at our UK factory who will be glad to help with technical queries and provide advice on product selection. To get in touch contact firstname.lastname@example.org and our support team will be glad to help.
The AH2 and AH12 models are still available from us and we continue to supply these alongside the NEW range.
We have a culture of continuous improvement at Alphasense and for us the NEW PID range represents just that. Each of the 5 NEW Alphasense PID sensors has been tailored to offer best in class performance, whether judged on response time, power consumption, baseline stability or indeed value for money. The AH2 and A12 have served us very well for a number of years and we continue to support them but we would encourage our customers to trial the NEW range in order to see the benefits for themselves.
With the exception of some specific world areas, Alphasense sells direct to customers. If you would like to submit an enquiry, please get in touch and we will be happy to provide you with a quotation or in some cases refer you to a regional distributor.
Our quotations team will be glad to assist in providing pricing, typically on the same day you make an enquiry. Please get in touch and a member of our team will prepare a quotation for you.
