Based upon the field-proven Alphasense D-series format, the H-series is available for a range of toxic and exotic target gases and is compatible with other similar formats such as 1-series, giving instrument manufacturers freedom of choice in supply and the ability to widen their product portfolios.
With sensors for gases including CO, H2S, CL2, HCN and SO2, the H-series lends itself to portable instrument applications in both single and multi-gas gas devices. The addition of a CO-H2 sensor gives manufacturers the opportunity to offer CO immunity as standard and a dual CO/H2S sensor enables the detection of 5 gases within a 4-gas enclosure.
Small Wonder
The size and weight of a device is a critical factor in its success. For compliance devices, wearability is paramount with small and sleek devices proving popular with end users. For multi-gas and connected devices, the increasing need for additional hardware such as communications, pumps and long-life batteries has potential to tip size and weight over the threshold of practicality.
The H-series delivers a sensor package which is 45% smaller than traditional formats. When considering a 4-gas device, this represents a volume reduction of 13cm³.
With sensors typically consuming a large percentage of an instruments internal volume, the H-series frees up space in the core of a device, creating room for additional hardware and making pocket size instruments a reality.
The H-series also represents an advancement in weight reduction, coming in approximately 65% lighter than the industry standard.
In choosing H-series sensors over traditional formats, instrument manufacturers can deliver devices which are thinner, lighter smarter and more robust.
Engineered to Perform, Built to Last
The H-series is built off the back of the Alphasense D-series sensor which has been commonplace in portable devices for over 15 years now. Having been field-proven in a host of applications and environments, the technology employed within the H-series is guaranteed to perform.
With a pad interface in place of traditional pins, the H-series negates the need for PCB sockets, eliminating a common failure point, making sensor changes easy and enhancing flexibility.
Compatibility with other similar formats give instruments manufacturers freedom of choice when it comes to sensor selection. With the exception of the dual CO/H2S variant, H-series sensors share the same pad format, making sensors interchangeable between slots, allowing sensors to be mixed and matched or duplicated where redundancy is required.
