Production Operator

We are currently looking for Production Operators to join our busy team at our production facility in Essex. The role will involve manually assembling materials or operating machinery on the Alphasense sensor production line.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Checking the production scheduling board each morning and occupying the relevant workstation that you have been assigned to.
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures, manufacturing procedures and health & safety requirements precisely (e.g. using the correct personal protective equipment).
  • Being flexible to changing production requirements and moving promptly to another workstation/production area when requested.
  • Hand-assembling materials with the tools and equipment provided at your workstation.
  • Operating machinery to assemble materials.
  • Monitoring production quality regularly, ensuring high quality finished and sub-assembly product, escalating issues to the relevant Line Leader.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy work environment, based on 5S principles.
  • Communicating effectively with the Line Manager, Ops Coordinator and Quality Team.

Senior Scientist/Senior Engineer

Job purpose:

Physicist/Physical Chemist or similar role to research and develop gas sensors with the aim of improving existing products and developing new ones.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Bring new ideas for improving or designing new products and manage proactively all aspects of their development from conception to commercialisation.

Scientist/Senior Scientist

Job purpose:

Analytical Chemist/Physical Chemist/Electrochemist or similar background to provide support and improvements to gas sensors products. This is a hands-on role.   • Experience developing bare-metal firmware for real world applications.

Quality Control Engineer

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Determine test requirements, test methods, sample sizes and statistical analysis for qualification/verification studies for incoming material and manufacturing.
  • Devise and/or maintain sampling procedures, designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality data.
  • Initiate and lead non-conformance investigations regarding component failures, finished goods failures, and product returns. This includes but is not limited to performing risk analysis, determining root cause and recommending corrective action.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data by utilizing appropriate charts such as Xbar R, IMR or PARETO for (IQA, DMR, OQA and other variable data) and make recommendations.
